These terms describe how you use I Ching Practice, what the service is for, and where its limits lie. The service supports reflection and re-reading; it makes no decisions for you. Last updated: 4 May 2026.
1. What this service is
I Ching Practice offers a digital consult, local in-browser storage, a free basic life path with up to 5 readings, and a premium life path for re-reading, moments of reflection, notes, return, and pattern display over time. The basic consult (the ordinary reading) is freely accessible; deeper features are available through a paid subscription.
2. What this service is not
The service makes no decisions for users and gives no medical, legal, financial or therapeutic guidance. For questions that need professional help, consult a qualified practitioner or adviser.
3. Account and access
An account is free to create. The free account gives access to the basic life path, in which you can keep and re-read up to 5 readings. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your login credentials safe. Do not use your account on someone else's behalf without their consent. If abuse is suspected, we may temporarily block or terminate an account.
4. Subscription and payment
The premium subscription costs € 9,99 per month or € 79,00 per year (on average € 6,58 per month when paid in advance). Prices are in euros. Not subject to VAT.
Renewal happens automatically at the end of the chosen period (monthly or yearly), at the rate in force at that time. We announce price changes at least thirty days in advance by email. Payment runs through Stripe; Stripe's terms apply additionally to the payment processing.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription online at any time via the subscription management page in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; until then you keep access to the premium features. No notice period, no hidden costs.
6. Cooling-off period for digital services
For consumers, under Book 6 of the Dutch Civil Code, a statutory cooling-off period of fourteen days applies after the agreement is concluded. Because the premium subscription grants immediate access to digital content and features, we ask at the start for your express consent to immediate delivery and your acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal therefore lapses once you use the service. Until first use, you can cancel free of charge within the cooling-off period via consult@i-ching-practice.com.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for a well-functioning service, but give no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may improve, adjust, or temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance. For material changes that affect your access or paid features, we communicate this at least thirty days in advance by email or in the app.
8. Liability
I Ching Practice is not liable for damage arising from use of the service, except in the case of intent or deliberate recklessness. For the premium subscription, liability is in any case limited to the amount you paid in the preceding twelve months.
9. Complaints
Report complaints via consult@i-ching-practice.com. We confirm receipt within five business days and aim for a substantive answer within four weeks. If we cannot resolve it together, you can consult the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
10. Applicable law
These terms and the use of I Ching Practice are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory law designates another competent court.
11. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. We announce material changes at least thirty days in advance. The most current version is always on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
